I love mushrooms, I mean friggin’ LOVE them. It hasn’t always been that way, just ask my dad. He had to bribe me to try them and once I did, wow I never doubted his food suggestions every again – well that’s not true. Anyway, back to my mushroom love fest – they are my favorite! Unfortunately no one in the family appreciates them as much as I do so that leaves the mushroom centric dishes all for me.
Air fryer portobello mushrooms cook up in no time and make for the perfect meatless Monday main dish, awesome side dish or serve as an appetizer with an herbed yogurt sauce.
How to Make Air Fryer Portobello Mushrooms
- Clean the portobellos gently with a damp towel, avoid putting them directly under running water unless they are very dirty. Mushrooms will absorb the water which will alter the taste slightly.
- Mix up your spice blend and oil together using what we suggested or make your own, get creative.
- Brush both sides of the portobellos and place into the air fry basket.
- Set the basket/tray into the preheated air fryer and set timer for 9-11 minutes. Just note that all air fryers are different so cooking time/temp may vary.
