Noodles Romanoff History
- Noodles Romanoff originated from the star-studded and popular Beverly Hills restaurant, “Romanoffs”, owned by Michael Romanoff.
- When Romanoffs closed on New Years Eve 1962, the dish was picked up and served at Stouffer’s Top of the Rock Restaurant in Chicago.
- After Stoufer’s Top of the Rock closed in 1972, the dish moved on to the frozen foods division.
- Competitors soon picked up the recipe and sold it in various forms for cooks to make at home.
How to Make Noodles Romanoff
- Egg Noodles – the star of this dish, the wider the better.
- Salted Butter
- Sour Cream
- Cottage Cheese – some use a brick of cream cheese instead
- Onions – personally I like the onion addition but the family prefers it without
- Parmesan Cheese – other cheeses that work well include cheddar, Swiss, Gouda or Gruyere also work well
- Spices – salt, pepper, paprika and Worcestershire Sauce
What to Serve with Noodles Romanoff
- Simple salad – this is a rich meal so keep it light
- Grill Portobello Mushrooms – these noodles are the perfect side
- Juicy Baked Pork Chops – such an easy dish to prepare
